The crematorium was officially opened on the 8th of August 2006 by the honorable Mrs. Denise Robinson (MP) of the City of Cape Town and compliments the other vital facilities and related services that are on site. The new cremation units have been fully imported from the USA and have been integrated into an aesthetically looking building to provide a clinical and respectful appearing facility. The new facility is operated on a 10 year lease by the Doves Group, a respected and well-known funeral undertaker in South Africa. Visitation to the crematorium facility can be arranged thru the administration office at Durbanville.
Ceremonial Halls
A choice of 2 non-denominational ceremonial halls provide seating for parties of up to ~ 100 people and the other for up to ~200 people. Both halls can be hired for a normal service, for a cremation service and a wake service. The larger hall has an adjoining mother and child room, where mothers and their children can withdraw to, in order not to disrupt the ceremony should this be required. A CD player and or organ can be made available for either hall on request. For current hiring rates please consult the price list available under the "Information" section or contact our administration office. We will try to accommodate special requirements as far as possible and thus ask you to feel free to discuss your needs with our administrative staff.

The spacious catering facility enables caterers to comfortably setup their equipment when providing for a wake service. Durbanville Memorial Park can assist in coordinating and providing for your catering requirements. Please discuss your needs with our administration staff.
