An onsite and fire proof archive ensures that all burial records are kept securely and are readily available. An electronic backup copy of all statutorily required burial documents are kept on site as well as an off-site copy.

Durbanville Crematorium

The crematorium was officially opened on the 8th of August 2006 by the honorable Mrs. Denise Robinson (MP) of the City of Cape Town and compliments the other vital facilities and related services that are on site. The two Mathews cremation units were fully imported from the USA and have been integrated into an aesthetically looking building to provide a clinical and respectful appearing facility. The crematorium facility is operated on a long term lease by ICSA Pty Ltd (Independent Crematoriums South Africa), a respected and well-known operator in South Africa. Visitation to the crematorium facility can be arranged thru the administration office at Durbanville.

Ceremonial Halls

A choice of 2 non-denominational ceremonial halls provide seating for parties of up to ~ 50 people (Hall #1) and the other for up to ~200 people (Hall #2). Both halls can be hired for a normal service, for a cremation service and a wake service. The larger hall has an adjoining mother and child room, where mothers and their children can withdraw to, in order not to disrupt the ceremony should this be required.

A CD player and or organ can be made available for either hall on request in addition to the multimedia projection system available only in Hall #2. For current hiring rates please consult the price list available under the Downloads section or contact our administration office. We will try to accommodate special requirements as far as possible and thus ask you to feel free to discuss your needs with our administrative staff.

Catering Facility

A centrally located catering facility can be reserved when you wish to have a wake after your memorial service or in conjunction with your memorial service at our park. The spacious catering facility enables caterers to comfortably setup their equipment when providing for a wake service. Durbanville Memorial Park can assist in coordinating and providing for your catering requirements. Please discuss your needs with our administration staff.

Park Features

The park gardens with its meandering stream and myriad of ponds is home to some resident ducks and wild bird species. This provides for a tranquil setting in which people can stay in comfort while visiting their beloved ones. As the landscaped gardens are extended into the future phases further features may be included.
